$150

As we return to a school year that feels more “normal”, many teachers are finding that their engagement with students are anything but.  The past two years students have been relatively or wholly disconnected from their schools.  Teachers are left to navigate a world where students have experienced elevated hardship, conflict and trauma.

That’s why PCSNM is proud to partner with EdConnective on a series of trainings on trauma-informed teaching.  This training is for teachers and school instructional leaders and is presented as a series of three sessions on 10/21, 11/3 and 11/18 from 2-3pm.

Part I:  Trauma-Informed Instruction: Discuss how teachers can take a more proactive stance when student trauma surfaces Examine how teachers can empower students’ agency by tapping into community resources and approaching students with unconditional positive regard.

Part II:  Promoting Restoration After Conflict: Examine and discuss specific mindset shifts that lay the foundation for restorative practices Plan and practice proactive and responsive restorative strategies that can be implemented immediately within the classroom.

Part III:  Bridging Learning Gaps: Analyze student behaviors to hone in on learning gaps in skill, knowledge, capacity, will, cultural competence, and emotional intelligence. Discuss concrete strategies that can bridge learning as student gaps in learning become evident within the classroom.

Cost: $150 for all three sessions!
